How do you deal with a rude cashier? You’re having a good day and decide to go to the supermarket and get some food. You found what you want and you walk up to the shortest line to pay for your food. You see the cashier and ask “hi, how are you doing?” She gives you a mean look and does not say anything. The only thing she says is “your total is $50, cash or credit?” You pay with cash and she snatches the money out of your hand along with her mean look. She then gives you the change back, but sort of throws the money on the counter purposely not putting the change in your hands. She’s also breathing very hard like she’s irritated by your presence.
What do you do? You have three options:
1. Ignore her and don’t let her ruin your day. Tell her “have a lovely day.”
2. Every cashier has a name tag. So, get her name or more like memorize her name and as soon you as get in a car right her name down on a piece of paper. When you get home, called the supermarket you just left and tell them what just happened. You can say something like “Hello how are you? I have been a customer at this supermarket for a long-time. I love the food and the environment. Today, I entered your supermarket and had a very unpleasant experience with your cashier named blah blah blah. She was rude, unkind and just angry for some unknown reason. It would be in your best interest to have a meeting with this cashier about her attitude towards the customers that enter this supermarket. If I continue to deal with poor customer service or unpleasant cahsiers at this supermarket, I will take my business somewhere else. Have a good day.”
3. Don’t say anything to her, don’t call the supermarket about your treatment, just shop for food somewhere else.
